Lilian Wunschik, born 1997 in Düsseldorf, is a photographer and graphic designer based in Berlin. Her work explores the relationship between image, perception, and memory. Rather than documenting events or narratives, she searches for compositions that function beyond their immediate context—images that resist instant consumption and remain visually and conceptually open.
Working with photography and graphic design, she is interested in how visual structures create meaning. Her approach is precise and deliberate, countering the acceleration of digital imagery and its tendency toward fleeting impact. Through careful framing and attention to form, her work seeks to extend the moment of looking, inviting a slowed-down engagement with the image.
She studied Communication Design at the Peter Behrens School of Arts, Düsseldorf and attended the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, where she expanded her focus on narrative photography.
Her projects often involve landscapes and architectural remnants, exploring how places carry traces of past function and presence. She is particularly drawn to sites that exist in a state of transition—between use and abandonment, structure and dissolution.
In addition to her photographic practice, she works as a graphic designer, developing visual concepts that emphasize clarity, composition, and the relationship between image and text.
